Summer "Bucket List"

I have started a "Bucket List" for my summer.  I'm sure it will grow over the next month as I think of more things I want to add to it but this is a start:

Finish at least two triathalons.

Visit Homer.

Visit Seward.

Visit Talkeetna.

White water rafting in Denali.

Hike Crow Creek Pass.

Hike Pioneer Peak.

Go to the Forest Fair.

Nice list! I like the photo formats as well! I will have to open up my brand new Milepost and see where those towns are in Alaska. ;O)

Talkeetna is just 90 miles north of us. We usually go up there a few times during the summer to play at the river. It's a tiny town but the tour buses come in there in the summer so it gets pretty busy in the summer months, especially during the Moose Dropping Festival (you can probably google that). Seward and Homer are about 200 miles south of us, two small oceanside towns. Homer is my favorite; it's a very artsy little oceanside town. I haven't been to Seward in quite a few years. You can take the train but it's a bit spendy so not sure about that.

Thanks for the inspiration! I'll have to write out my summer list, and get started on the planning.

There are a lot of very creative and cozy little spots to see there! I am loving my books about Alaska. They give a lot of helpful info. I'll Google the festival though. ;O)

Oh and Cam, good luck on your bucket list! I am sure you will not have trouble setting some fun goals for your family. You and Heidi are quite inspirational people.

I love this bucket list!
I've only been to AK once, although my father spent every summer there from 1974 until 1981, and thus I saw home movies, heard many tales, and witness my father's wistful longing for AK constantly. He visited nearly every square 100 miles, as he did the USGS mineral maps for the entire state...dream job! Anyway, my husband and I honeymooned up there and we did everything on your list except for hiking Crow Creek pass, and white water rafting in Denali, although we did hike there. I guess we did pretty good for our 3 weeks there!

Love your blog, btw...we are unschoolers in New Mexico, which seems to be AKs sister state. If you ever come down here, let us know! We'll show you around...
